God set aside the Promised Land for Israel, yet in doubt and fear they listened to the 10 spies instead of listening to the faith report of Joshua and Caleb.  When the Israelites heard they would wander in the wilderness 40 years, they rebelled and tried to take the promised land anyway, and ended up destroyed.  Whose report are you going to believe?

Has God promised you something that you are trying to achieve without Him?  Without His presence, His promises will not be fulfilled in your life; you will end up turning to false gods and the lies of satan to try to achieve God’s blessings.  Be careful of what the enemy deceives you.

Mt. Sinai was the place where the Law was given, but most of Israel followed that Law out of ungodly fear, the fear of being punished, not the fear of being loved.  Mt. Zion is where God’s presence abounded; when Jesus died on the cross, God’s presence could dwell among men.

Do you fear God rightly?  Do you fear Him because you love Him or because you are afraid of being punished?  Jesus took the penalty for your sin, but that requires you submitting to His love and grace.
