Confronting Another Believer
In this continued series out of Hebrews about God’s Word, we are talking again about discipline in the church. No one likes discipline, but it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness. Our character should show the wisdom and grace of God, not the ways of the world.
Think about how Job’s friends confronted him saying he deserved what he was going through because of sin in his life; yes, we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, but what Job’s friends missed was that Satan was in particular going after Job because he was a follower of Father God. Recognize as a believer when another believer is being attacked by the enemy before you go off and tell them they deserve what they are getting because of sin in their lives.
We must deal with sin gently, out of love, with our goal being to restore another believer before they fall from grace.
