The Seed of Abraham – Sermon 3 in the Series Faith, Authority & The Power of Prayer

Preacher:
Passage: Galatians 3
Service Type:

In this third message on our series of Faith, Authority and the Power of Prayer, we are talking about the Seed of Abraham and what that means for us as Gentile believers in Jesus Christ.  Being grafted in is a blessing, a privilege, an adoption that carries transformation and eternal significance.

Abraham followed God by faith; he believed God every time God spoke to him.  He heard, he obeyed, and he did not give up.  He knew that if God said it, it would surely happen.  Even though he had strong faith, he still made mistakes.  He still got fearful when he thought his wife Sarah would be taken, and he killed.  Sometimes even in the midst of our faith walk, we all still succumb to the life-threatening fears of this life.  Do not be condemned.  Do not let that destroy your faith in Jesus.  Abraham followed God even when he made a mistake; he did not let go of his faith in the Father.

Identity is an important pillar in our Christian faith.  When I got married, I changed my last name to my husband’s last name.  My whole identity changed.  I had to get all new ID cards, had to change my name on all legal documents; it was an exciting process because I love my husband, and I felt blessed to take on his name.  By giving our hearts and lives to Jesus, we become His.  We are His Bride, His Church, His people.  We take on His Name to use our spiritual authority here on this earth, but none of that happens without first putting our faith in Him.

Faith works by love; the revelation that Jesus loves you is paramount to you having faith in Him.  That is a key to taking authority over all situations affecting your life.  Know who you are so that others will know Who you serve.
