The Early Church turned the whole world upside down.  After being filled with the Holy Spirit, the disciples and new believers became bold and powerful witnesses of the Gospel.  The elders, of course, did not like that at all; they were even convicted of crucifying Jesus.  That conviction was from the Holy Spirit whether they knew that or not.

Even in this New Testament Church, God tested the hearts of each individual.  Ananias and Sapphira conjured up together to deceive the church into believing they were giving all of their funds from selling some land, but it was a lie.  That lie cost them their lives.  Great fear of the Lord fell on all the new believers.  You cannot think that God does not ever see the intents of your heart.

This week is Thanksgiving.  What are you truly thankful for?  God knows what is going on in your heart.  Don’t lie to Him.  Tell Him what you are truly thankful for this year.  Think about it.
