Serve the Lord and Freedom from Strongholds
Joshua declared boldly to the Israelites Whom he would serve; he spoke to them strongly that they, too, should follow God no matter what leader they had. Who are you serving today? Ask yourself who is the Lord of your life? Is it you? or, is it God?
We are finishing up Chapter 3 titled Freedom from Strongholds out of Lee Thomas’ book Living the Exceedingly Victorious Life. This chapter gives examples of the enemy’s strongholds and what verses to stand on to overcome the enemies’ lies in your life. Many of us have become comfortable with our lifestyles that we don’t even realize that we need freedom from strongholds like pride, bitterness, and lust. We wait until disaster strikes before we cry out to the Lord for help instead of listening to His Holy Spirit at the beginning when the issue was minor and could have been dealt right away; now it becomes a battle, and in that battle it can feel like there is no way out.
At the end of the message, I share a word that God spoke to me about sinking ships; I myself have dealt with prideful strongholds and have had to repent and pray through each one. God is so good, He delivered me, and I know He will deliver you if you will turn your heart to Him.
