Servants, Friends and Children of God and Faith Fueling Authority

Passage: John 12:26
Service Type:

Servants, friends, children-how is it that we are all of these to Jesus?  Our relationship with God is very unique; we are serving Him, we are His friends, and we are His children.  We serve each other to serve Jesus, we lay our lives down, and we are adopted by the Father as His children.

Maybe you don’t know how to fit in; maybe you don’t know where you are in your relationship with the Lord.  Do you feel like you have to work for your salvation?  Is it hard for you to understand that it is by grace that you have been saved through faith?  Lay down the doubts and become a part of the family of God; become who you were meant to be, for it is in that identity that you can walk in pure faith.

You are loved by God; it is time to move away from the past, to believe you are forgiven, and to believe that you can forgive others.  Don’t waste your time on hurts; release those to Jesus.  It is not easy, but it is extraordinarily freeing.  Jesus has so much that He wants to tell you, but sometimes those things can block you from hearing His voice.  He wants you to serve Him, but He also wants to share with you intimate details like a friend.

If you have never experienced that kind of relationship with the Lord, then it is time for you to be still and know that He is God.  Be still and open your heart to hear His voice.  Be still and let Him heal the past.  It doesn’t have to be all at once; He knows what you can and cannot handle.  God wants you to come to Him like a child, not afraid, not fearful, but with faith that knows Heavenly Father will hold you in His arms, will let you share about your problems, and help you through each and every one of them.

Your childlike faith can move mountains.  We have been walking through the stories of the faith of Abraham, and they are still inspiring even to this day.  Abraham served God and He was a friend of God; he put his faith in God, and he had a close relationship with the Father.  He had a covenant with God that has carried through to even the Israel of today.  The land they live in is a testament of the covenant that God made with Abraham.  It belongs to God’s people.

Authority has been given to you by your faith in Jesus Christ.  Are you acting on it?  Are you believing His Word and speaking it over your life, over your family, over hard situations?  Search the Word for what you are struggling with and stand on the truth of the Gospel and not on the lies of the enemy, no matter how tempting they may sound.  Freedom is coming for you.  Victory is coming for you.  Believe and receive.
