When the world is discouraging, what do you do?  Do you turn to the Lord or do you turn to distractions?

God’s Word is encouraging!  He always has the Word that you need for every situation in your life.  Remain faithful to Him, and He will bring you through the tough times with supernatural strength.  There is true joy that is a fruit of the Spirit that you need to walk in.  The Holy Spirit wants you to be encouraged; the Holy Spirit wants you to be blessed.  God wants good things for you, and He has not forgotten about you.

There is more to being a Christian than saying the sinner’s prayer.  There is a life of victory that you can walk in when you are filled with the Holy Spirit; the Holy Spirit is a gift from God.  Ask Him for the Holy Spirit to fill you; ask Him for the gift of tongues, and He will give it to you.  Maybe that seems strange to you; maybe you don’t fully understand how it benefits you.  God’s Word unlocks so much of the mysteries of His power to us who believe by His Holy Spirit.  It’s like trying to figure out math; you can read the book, but without the understanding, math will seem useless to you.

Tongues will seem useless without the faith that it is a gift of God’s heavenly language to you; once you realize how powerful it is, it will change your life.  Once you realize it is life-changing, you will desire to have it.  Whatever doctrine you have heard that tongues is not for today, or that it is weird and not beneficial–instead of saying no, go to God’s Word.  If you truly desire God’s power in your life, He will give it to you.
