God Sees You and Knows Your Name and Gentleness

Passage: Mark 5:1-20
Service Type:

00:00

Jesus did a mighty miracle of deliverance for the man in the Gadarene country.  Something we don’t think about too much is that we never knew this man’s name.  Another person we don’t know the name of is the Samaritan woman, even though through her testimony many came to believe in Jesus.  What is so powerful about this is that Jesus knows your name, no matter how much trouble you are in or if others despise you or forget about you, He sees you and knows your name.

Do you feel like people have forgotten about you?  Maybe everyone knows who you are, but no one actually knows you, and that weighs on your heart.  Remember today that Jesus loves and cares about you deeply; He knows what you are going through, and He has a purpose and calling for you that is awesome.

In the Fruit of the Spirit series, our next fruit is gentleness, also knows as meekness.  Quite often we as Christians can be busy focused on the spiritual warfare and forget what we are fighting for; just like our military fight for our freedom, we must remember that we fight for our spiritual freedom and for the salvation of our friends and families each and every day.

As we fight this fight of faith, it is crucial to remember that we must be meek like Jesus was, not caring about only ourselves, but reaching out and loving those who have even fallen away from the faith.  This gentleness and meekness is given out through the powerful love of Jesus that is active in our spirits; is your fruit active today?
